Hey, we’re here.
In this Japanese wasteland. Haha just kidding. Okinawa is amazing. The daylong plane ride sucked ass though, and we got here tired and feeling nashty. Looking out the window, the weather looks almost identical to Seattle. But my eyes don’t deceive me. The air outside is humid and warm. I’m alone, here in our temporary lodging, as I will be for most of my days. Isaac comes home at 11 for an hour(ish) lunch and then gets off work around 4. So against my independent spirit, I have to dabble in the housewife arts for a wee bit. But overall I am happy. I’m 19 and starting off my life adventure in another country with my love. The town is a little dirty. The prices are ridonkulous. Prostitution is A-OK. The toilets clean your crotch for you. We <3 it. Base is more boring. It’s vey clean, organized and comes equppied with everything a small town would have except all the buildings were built in the 1950’s and are identically cold, beige and ugly. We get our “home” in around a week or so. For now there is only us and the exhiliration of waiting to explore all of Japan’s curiosities and woes. No more distractions, nothing holding us back anymore. We’ve never been more excited.
